I love the holidays. The touches of tradition make it even more special. One of those traditions was cross stitched stockings and that memory was the inspiration behind my latest release, Nordic Overlays and Stitching Styles. With these tools you can turn any photo or paper into a custom cross stitch or knitted masterpiece. I did a quick video tutorial to help you with customization and there is a pdf download too.

It is so good to be back to designing and right at home with the Progressive Scrap challenge. We did experience a bit of a hiccup yesterday in the forum and the gallery but the Studio team jumped in and everything seems to be working properly now. If you were able to upload yesterday, please check to make sure your images are still in the gallery. A few things were lost and will need to be loaded again but this marks the final step in the new server upgrade at the Studio. It’s been a long road but the store and forum and gallery are super speedy now. I love that I’m at home in a store where the owner is always working to make improvements even if that means suffering temporarily through some growing pains.
I took the summer off to enjoy my family, do a bit of traveling, and rejuvenate. My mind (and note pad) is filled with inspiration and ideas for new products. In fact, it’s so full I’m having a hard time deciding what to start on first. Christmas is right around the corner and I have a unique idea on the drawing board that came from a conversation with a friend. Holiday themes and decorations have certainly changed over the years so the options for kits are endless. I am looking for some inspirational photos to help me complete this kit. I want to see what your holiday home looks like. I know it’s a little early but the retailers are ready with the trees and ornaments in place and many people will spend this weekend pulling their tree from the attic or shopping for a fresh cut beauty. I’m curious to know what your favorite ornament or decorative piece is. Share your story in the comments and let’s see what we have in common.
We vacationed in the U.S. and visited Karen (Snickerdoodle Designs). We had a wonderful time visiting their new home and I got to see Karen’s DIY: Plank Craft Room Wall up close and personal. I love being able to feel the electricity of creativity and it really buzzes when Karen and I are in the same room.
I have a brand new collection in the store to kick off my Grand Re-opening. Misty Cove is soft and gentle in subtle shades of gray and blue. I was going for relaxing, calm and quiet. It has a subtle feel and the Misty Cove Collection has 2 alphas and plenty of papers and elements to scrap any type of page. It’s on sale now for only $8.
Enjoy your weekend! I hope to see your holiday decorating favorites in the comments.
Do you have big plans for Valentine’s Day? Did you make something special for your Sweetie? Are you expecting something special FROM your Sweetie? There’s still time and I have a great new mini collection that just might inspire you. If you only need a small finishing touch then you might want to print off one of the tags. The page kit is full of flowers and all things girlie but let that fool you. I added some dark papers and some masculine shapes so it’s really a very universal kit with tons of possibilities. If you’ve thought about pocket scrapping which seems to be all the rage right now, you’re in luck. There are two pages filled with pockets. You can use them all or turn them off and on to give your page a totally customized look. But the best part is, in celebration of Valentine’s Day, theStudio is having a “Sweetheart” of a Sale!
(There are two free alpha add-ons to that collection for you – one is available on my FB page, another one in my NL)
I hope you get something extra special for Valentine’s Day. Whatever you do, have a great weekend! I’ll see you soon.

Today Karen has a wonderful post on the Studio Blog about how to stretch your stash. You will want to check this out. She has taken page borders to a whole new level. If you are into repurposing or just enjoy stepping outside the box, you’ll enjoy Karen’s flair for doing more with what you have.
Whether you’re shopping, scrapping or taking a break from it all I hope you have a wonderful weekend!
Hello fellow scrappers!
That title looks funny. I’m not Smitten with Just So Scrappy – I’ve created Smitten with Just So Scrappy. Just so we’re clear on where this is going, Smitten is the final collab in the January Round Robin Event at The Studio. It has been fun. There have been some amazing pages made with the 4 collabs. You can see them all in the Round Robin Gallery but I wanted to share a few here too.
This is definitely one of my favorites! Those huge brown eyes and puckered lips made me smile a big wide grin. I love these candid shots. I love how the whole focus just goes straight to that precious face. I bet you have some of these shots too…maybe just begging to be scrapped? Smitten was driven by Valentine’s Day which is usually about venus/mars type love but this page shows the true versatility of the kit.
The Smitten Sale will extend past the end of the month but you only have until next Tuesday to join the final Round Robin Challenge and earn up to 40% on my entire PU store (collabs are excluded).
You also have a few more days to enjoy a 50% Savings in both my Personal Use and Commercial Use Stores.
Here Are A Few More Awesome Layouts Made With This Months Collabs
I see a pattern here of faces and I love it!
I intended to keep the post short today. I’ll have something special for you that coordinates with Smitten this Saturday. Until then, you can hop over the The Studio Blog and pick up this Add On.
Save 50% This Weekend In The Commercial Use Store
My 50% off sale will run through 31, January but this weekend you can shop and save 50% on Papers, Overlays and Textures from most designers at the Studio. There are some gorgeous things in these categories.
Of course, you still have time to Round Robin with Sea Cruise, my collaboration with Jilbert’s Bits of Bytes. The deadline for submissions is Tuesday. That’s plenty of time. Or maybe not. This weekend we celebrate my mom’s birthday. We have company and a party scheduled and I most certainly won’t be doing any scrapping but I am going to make a bit of time to shop so when the dust settles, I’ll have some new things to play with.
I did take some time out to make a cool photo frame cluster to coordinate with Sea Cruise. It’s down below some of these older products that you may have missed.
This is a great way to build your stash for some power scrapping.
I hope you’ll join us in the Round Robin Forum and don’t forget to post your links for an additional 10%, 20%, 30% or 40% off on next weeks new release.
I hope you have a great weekend. Here is my parting gift as I rush to finish food and decorations.
